The cut is the most important aspect of grading a diamond. The ingenuity of the cut brings out the sparkle, shine, brilliance and beauty of the diamond. Invariably, the cut will have a great influence on the quality and price of the diamond.

Carat-weight
A carat is a unit of weight equivalent to two hundred milligrams or one-fifth of a gram. The carat is the term generally used to measure, grade and compare diamonds. Generally, a diamond is more expensive if it has a bigger carat.

Clarity
Clarity determines how 'perfect' the surface of a diamond is. Flaws such as fissures, micro cracks, inclusions, scratches and uneven tones will generally affect the quality and would thus influence its value.

Color
The color of a diamond ranges greatly. The more popular colors varies from colorless, light yellow, greenish, blue, pink, purple to red. The rarity of the color tones could also determine the value of the diamond.
